Favorite story from your trip:
In Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, a typical day would be: lounging a bit in our ultra-comfy, ultra-beautiful guest house at Millar Road vineyard. The grapes are ripening directly ahead of me and beyond that, I can see the rolling hills, the bay. The two dachshunds who also live here on the property,
Freddy and Otto, walk by the porch every now and then to keep an eye on me (and make sure I don’t finish the bottle of Millar Road sauvignon blanc that owner Ginny has put in our fridge along some deliciously juicy fresh plums). You know all those yummy apples you get at the grocery store that are from New Zealand? They are weighing down all the trees in this area – and for sale for a song at roadside stands. And the Hastings Sunday Farmer's Market is a work of art.
